The Birth of LotusChina & Production Story Part 2

  • Copied the URL !

Thanks for your time, I’m asa_Peach from asapidock, a company that sells 3D costumes for VRChat.
This time I would like to talk about LotusChina, continuing from the previous article. Since I have already discussed the main part of the jacket in the previous article, I would like to talk about the other inner parts of the jacket in this article.

1. design this and that

1-1. innerwear section

Let’s start with a drafty one.
There is not much difference in the see-through bust, the openness of the back, or the short length.

design draught
The one I added in a hurry because I was lonely around the shoulders.

As for the string extending from the left breast, I eliminated it because the weights and the structure of the garment seemed difficult. The structure is probably similar to that of a bare kimono, but the degree of influence when the breasts sway and the arms are moved, the complexity of the buffering with the see-through portion of the chest, etc.

I thought it would look a little sad around the arms if I erased it, so I put an accessory on the shoulder that looks like something you would find in a Chinese restaurant, and it seemed to fit better. (I’m pretty haphazard around here. ・・・・ I wish I could decide exactly what I wanted to do, but I’m not sure.)

By the way, the shoulder accessory is not transparent, but mesh hollowed out and thickened. I remember that it didn’t look good if I made the thick one transparent…………….the truth is in the dark.

1-2. other details

Next are the shoes. In the original proposal, there were socks, which were somewhat elaborate.
As for this place… I completely forgot about it. (I’m sorry….
I forgot to work on it before I knew it because I am not good at making shoes and what I imagined was a China woman boss type wearing simple shoes on her raw feet.
It’s not because I like mermaids with bare legs, really.

Draft of the undercarriage. It looks elaborate, but it’s in storage.
The head accessory that you often use

The rest of the head was lonely, so I wanted to add something to it. I came up with this idea while I was working on the dress, but there are plenty of chignons that look like Chinese balls, so I decided to use a floral accessory that is similar to the floral pattern of the innerwear. I am grateful to you for using this accessory in various places!

2. struggle with anterior droop

2-1. Design

Now that the modeling is done, the next step is to set up the operation. This time, the PB part of the front droop took quite a bit of time, and I had to do it by brute force.
The front hanging down in China is nice, isn’t it? And you want to peel it off, don’t you? So I decided to make a PB instead of a Cloth.

Next is how to insert the boning. The front hanging was quite short and wide, so I thought, “It would be perfect and sexy if I put in two rows on each side so that I can peel off one side of the boning! Also, if there are two rows, I can peel the whole thing with both hands, so it’s very functional! This was a shortsighted idea, and two were put in.

2-2. Forceful solution section

This is where the hell began.
I had this perfect plan in my head, “If I put a plate collider in my foot, it will work just fine!” I had this perfect plan in my head, but it never worked out that way. ・・・・
When I sit on my inner thighs & sit down, the center of my front droop floats.(This is an unavoidable problem when you have friends who calibrate with their heels open, which makes them look cute with their inner thighs during normal operation.)

So what to do? The problem is that when you turn inward, the collider also turns at an angle, causing the bone to rotate. I thought it would be a good idea to adjust the collider so that it always faces in the same direction even if the angle of the foot is changed.

When I sit on my inner thighs, the center of my front droop mysteriously rises.

Ideally, the orientation of the PB plate colla should be the same even when the inner thighs are in the same direction.

I was wondering if it is possible to limit one axis with RotationConstrait? But this did not work either. I had to specify the foot movement in the source code, and since it is affected by the source code, I was not able to fix it completely. (I apologize for my lack of skill and explanation in this area.)

After much deliberation, I thought to myself, “Well, I wonder if I can fix the orientation by using PB’s angle-limiting “Hinge”? I thought of this idea, and made a configuration based on it.

The InsideColider in the knee, combined with the angle limitation by the Hinge, has completed a board cola that always faces in a certain direction to the foot, regardless of the angle of the foot. Yay.
(The actual configuration is a bit more complicated. If you are interested, please see the actual product)

The product of a lot of worry.
Even if you sit on your inner thighs, the mysterious rise is gone.

3. at the end

These are some of the design and hard work that went into the non-jacket parts of LotusChina. We hope that when you wear or see the costume, you will think “Wow, that droopy front part was a hard work, ” and then peronate it and think “Wow, that is an etch-a-sketch 。。。。”.

 My favorite unjacketed photo below.
