1. Impetus
I started modeling because I wanted to make clothes with a design that emphasized the navel.
It is still a work in progress, but my goal is to increase the number of things I can do by at least one per work.
My goal this time was to get a nice crease in the boot,
- Large wrinkles in mesh (modeling)
- Small wrinkles in normal (Substance Painter)
We did two of the following.
2. Design
The design particularly emphasizes the navel.
It was also designed to be used as outerwear only or innerwear only.
I have made many cosplay-like costumes in the past, so it was difficult to create a realistic-looking design.
3. Modeling
The wrinkles in the boots are represented by mesh for large wrinkles and normal for small wrinkles.
I was quite particular about the texture.
After creating the prototype in Blender, large wrinkles are added with a Sculpt draw brush.
Substance Painter
Import the mesh into the substance painter.
Add a fine wrinkle to the normal.
Paint Along Path” was used to draw the seams of the clothing.
If the “Follow Path” setting is off, the seam material will not be well placed and will be wobbly.
If the “Follow the path” setting is on, the image will be placed along the path nicely.
It took me quite a while to realize that the setup was too basic, perhaps because I could not find an explanation to the contrary.
5. completion
I worked hard to complete the project with a lot of thought!
